This week we received Inmaculada Rodríguez, president of the Salamanca delegation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, at our factory in Guijuelo. We presented her with a check for €3,000, which will contribute to the research projects promoted by the organization to combat this disease.
Jamones Aljomar's involvement in the fight against cancer has had, and will continue to have, other points of focus in the coming days. In addition to showing our support on October 19th, World Breast Cancer Day, we are sponsoring the '5th March Against Cancer. AECC Salamanca on the Move' which will take place next Sunday, October 28th.
It is estimated that around 15,000 people will attend the march and all the money raised from registrations, race numbers and t-shirts will be used to fund cancer research grants.
Supporting the fight against this disease is a commitment Jamones Aljomar made long ago. In fact, we already presented another check to the AECC last February.
The funds raised are obtained through the 'It Feels Good to Help Others' Campaign, which donates €1 for every product sold by Aljomar bearing the 'Solidarity Product' label. Thanks to this, in addition to supporting the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Aljomar has been able to assist numerous local, regional, and national organizations, such as Red Madre, the Aladina Foundation (through the Cascajares Traditional Capon Auction), Pyfano (children with cancer), ADAA (Association for the Support of Families of Patients in the Balearic Islands), the Salamanca Blood Donors Association, the Social Cooperation Fund of the University of Salamanca, the Association of Deaf-Blind People of Castile and León, and Aerscyl (Association for Rare Diseases of Castile and León).
