Aljomar brings the Family Business to the classrooms of Filiberto Villalobos Guijuelo

ALjomar EFCL Classrooms

Last October we introduced on our social networks the program 'Family Business in the classrooms', launched by the Family Business Association of Castilla y León (EFCL) and the Ministry of Education with the aim of making schoolchildren aware of the role and relevance of the family business in the economy and society, its values, and promoting entrepreneurial and business vocations among the youngest.

Well, the moment has arrived and the program begins its journey this week.

The aim is to strengthen the content related to business and entrepreneurship in the primary and secondary school curricula of 22 educational centers throughout the region. Family business owners themselves will give talks in schools and institutes across Castile and León, and students will also give presentations to our companies.

On behalf of Jamones Aljomar, Assistant Director Carmen Sánchez will visit the CEIP Filiberto Villalobos school in Guijuelo on January 18th to meet with 6th grade students. As the second generation to lead this well-established family business with 25 years of experience, Carmen Sánchez will give a talk offering firsthand insights into what a family business is like, what they do, how they do it, their challenges, and their values.

Following the visit to the school, Carmen Sánchez will invite the students and their teachers to visit the Jamones Aljomar facilities in Guijuelo, so that they can see firsthand how work is done in one of the top 10 Iberian ham producers in Spain, with national and international distribution.

This EFCL program will involve 19 partner companies and 22 educational centers in the Community, so that the activities will reach more than 700 primary and secondary school students from the 9 provinces of Castilla y León.

The actions planned in 'Family Business in the classroom' are part of the 'The Fruit of Values' initiative led by EFCL to "disseminate the contribution of the family business in its environment and the characteristic values that define this type of company and its promoters and that are directly related to education, such as effort, perseverance, commitment, entrepreneurship, leadership or responsibility."
