- The big day has arrived. How are you approaching today's match against Atlético de Madrid? - With great enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility. The truth is, we've worked very hard to raise Guijuelo's profile, and even though we're not in the league position we'd like for the Copa del Rey match, we're going into it with a lot of enthusiasm and a huge sense of responsibility because we know we carry the weight of the entire town of Guijuelo on our shoulders. We're very motivated. - There's talk of a full house for the long-awaited return to top-flight football at the Helmántico stadium. Can you imagine playing in front of 17,000 people? - It's a privilege and a blessing. We knew there was a lot of hunger for football in Salamanca, and the truth is that the entire town of Guijuelo, its businesses, have mobilized tremendously, and we hope not to disappoint them and to repay them for everything they're doing for us and for the club.
- What does it feel like to wear the logo of a ham company on your shirt, in this case, ours, Aljomar? - For me, it's an honor and a great responsibility to wear the name of Aljomar and Guijuelo. The business community of Guijuelo has supported us with sports sponsorships, and now it's our turn to deliver. - And how has this season been in Guijuelo after several years playing outside of Spain in Poland? - Very good. At first, it was tough because after playing for several seasons in the Polish first division, I was about to sign for a Romanian first division club, but the club went bankrupt, and I was left without a team. And then I received a call from Jorge and Chema (president and sporting director of CD Guijuelo), who have always treated me very well and believed in me; so I have to thank them. After a few months here, it's been great; let's see if we keep improving little by little. - Good luck today, Carles, we'll be following you closely. Go for it! - Thank you very much [caption id="attachment_1922" align="alignleft" width="1024"]

Guijuelo midfielder Carles Marc Martínez with Aljomar's assistant director, Carmen Sánchez[/caption] Today in our traditional 'who's who' we're not going to talk about any of the workers at the factory, the farm, or the slaughterhouse... although the protagonist is someone who has worked incredibly hard to take our name and that of Guijuelo to the top. We're talking about Carles Marc Martínez , the CD Guijuelo midfielder , who wears the Aljomar logo on his back. We spent some time with him at the factory to talk about the 'match of the century' (at least in the charcuterie town...) that pits CD Guijuelo against Atlético de Madrid today, in the return of football to the Helmántico stadium. Having come through the youth ranks at Valencia, his hometown club, 28-year-old Carles Marc has played for various Spanish clubs (Valencia, Murcia, Lepe, Getafe, and Atlético Baleares) as well as Polish first division clubs such as Piast Gliwice and Zagłębie Sosnowiec. He joined Guijuelo for the 2016-2017 season, playing as a midfielder. Between slices of Iberian ham, he tells us how he sees the match:
