At Jamones Alomar, we continue to promote Iberian ham culture in schools throughout the city and province of Salamanca, thanks to the support of the General Foundation of the University of Salamanca and the City, Culture and Knowledge Foundation . These organizations promote the "EDUCA in Schools" Business Partner project , which aims to enhance and complement the education of schoolchildren through workshops, conferences, talks, and visits. The project transfers our knowledge and expertise to schools, targeting students from preschool through primary, secondary, high school, and vocational training. And we truly had a wonderful time, enjoying the interest, naturalness, and sincerity of the children. Today, we visited the Río Yeltes school in Villavieja de Yeltes, where 39 children between the ages of 3 and 12 welcomed us this morning.
The children learned about the entire production cycle of the hams and sausages they use in their sandwiches, from the selection and raising of Iberian pigs in the pastures of Salamanca, through factory processing, distribution, and sales. We explained it all on a tablecloth with illustrations and space for them to draw their own 'adventure'. And, of course, they got to taste it afterwards! Here are some photos from today's visit, which was a real pleasure.
