This year we have been fortunate enough to closely witness the organization and voting process for the 2019 Castilla y León Family Business Award , which has been granted to the owners of Industrias Maxi. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to this successful Valladolid-based company dedicated to the design and manufacture of capital goods. The award will be presented tonight at a beautiful gala held in the Auditorium of the Valladolid Science Museum, sponsored by Unicaja Banco.
As the company that won the award last year, Jamones Aljomar has been a member of the jury in this 2019 edition and , of course, it has been a pleasure to collaborate with the Family Business Association of Castilla y León and to be, in part, responsible for the public recognition of a family business in our Community.
Without a doubt, Industria Maxi is receiving a well-deserved award today, and we're sure they'll accept it with pride and great emotion. At least that's how it was for the Aljomar Family last year, when we were the stars of a wonderful awards ceremony. Therefore, we don't want to miss the opportunity to thank the Family Business of Castile and León and to recall those moments captured in this video of the event:
In the 2019 edition, during the deliberations for the 18th Castilla y León Family Business Award, the jury highlighted the strong commitment of the owners of Industrias Maxi to upholding the values and continuity of the family business , "which is currently managed by the second generation of the five families who founded it 50 years ago." The award winners have demonstrated their positive vision for the future and a commitment to growth and job creation , with initiatives such as "the €7 million investment made in 2008 to build new facilities and purchase modern machinery" and their significant work in Corporate Social Responsibility, promoting Dual Vocational Training through their Maxi School.
The Family Business Awards also recognize the work of journalists and researchers in defending the values and role of family businesses. Therefore, the Comunica Award will be given to Eduardo Álvarez, Director General of Radio Televisión Castilla y León ; and the Academia Award will be presented to Professor Manuel Bermejo, one of the world's leading experts on family businesses.
Finally, during the gala, the VII Fórum Junior Award will be presented, “a drawing competition with which EFCL wants to involve the youngest in what it means to belong to a business family and to bring them closer to the values inherent in this type of company.”
