Around fifty Aljomar workers gather for a day out at the Vera Vieja estate

This month, at the Aljomar Group, we have a lot of celebrations: 22nd Anniversary, Christmas, New Year… So on December 26th we are going to our estate in Las Cumbres, where we have organized a great country day which will be attended by about fifty workers from the group, from the factory in Guijuelo (Salamanca) and from the facilities in Vera Vieja (Badajoz). The aim is for the group's employees, who work in such geographically distant locations, to get to know each other and share a day of celebration. Employees from the Guijuelo factory will have the opportunity to visit the grounds and facilities of Vera Vieja, where Aljomar's Controlled Production and Processing Cycle begins. This is the pastureland where the pigs are raised that later become the source of the Iberian products made at their Guijuelo factory. At the Vera Vieja grain mill, the feed for our pigs is carefully prepared and nurtured; a nutritious menu based on wheat, corn, barley, and soy, always sourced domestically. During the visit, we will also see the breeding pens for the Iberian sows where, in addition to giving birth, they nurse their piglets. Aljomar estate Later, a visit by the workers from Vera Vieja to the Guijuelo facilities is also planned. On the other hand, weather permitting, we hope to enjoy a wonderful day in the countryside, immersed in nature. The estate is located in the dehesa, a landscape primarily composed of oak trees (holm oaks, cork oaks, and gall oaks, all linked to acorn production) and herbaceous terrain, all ideally suited for raising and grazing Iberian pigs. We at Aljomar also want to enjoy this incredible place; such a carefully maintained and protected environment that reflects the commitment and environmental awareness that guide the entire production process of Jamones Aljomar.
