Aljomar strengthens its growth thanks to Vera Vieja

At Jamones Aljomar, we remain very proud of our growth, capturing a larger share of the national market and strengthening our presence in the international market. Our annual sales now exceed €26.5 million, figures that place the company among the top 10 producers of Iberian products in Spain . Much of this success is due to the Vera Vieja farm, the Aljomar Group's subsidiary responsible for the Animal Production area. On its farms in Retamal de Llerena and Campillo de Llerena (Badajoz), more than 3,100 purebred Iberian sows are currently raised and fed, and their offspring are now beginning their montanera phase. This is the time of year when acorn-fed Iberian pigs roam freely through the pastures of Extremadura and Andalusia, feeding on acorns and other natural resources, sleeping, and exercising. This livestock farm, which also has its own natural feed mill, supplies the group with all the raw materials it needs, thus strengthening its production capacity. But more importantly, the quantitative growth of Vera Vieja not only ensures a reliable supply of Aljomar Hams but also offers greater qualitative guarantees regarding the consistency of the final product produced at the Guijuelo factory. The Aljomar Group has implemented strict control systems at every stage of its production, including full compliance with health requirements and traceability standards. This work yields excellent results thanks to the effort and high level of professionalism of all members of the Aljomar family. Having a controlled production cycle, where it's possible to closely monitor the entire process, from breeding ( Vera Vieja ) to slaughter ( El Navazo Slaughterhouse ) and the processing and distribution of the final product ( Aljomar Factory in Guijuelo ), facilitates control and contributes positively to the high quality offered to consumers of Aljomar Iberian hams, Iberian cured meats, and fresh Iberian pork.
