The Vera Vieja team improves its skills in animal welfare

The workers of the Vera Vieja Iberian pig breeding farm and natural cereal feed factory - facilities owned by the Aljomar Group in the Extremaduran town of Retamal de Llerena - have been participating since September 21 in a training course on 'Animal Welfare for Transporters and Livestock Farmers'. Vera Vieja Factory_Aljomar Hams The activity will take place daily until the end of the month and the 25 people who are part of this work team will have access to a complete and very useful program for the performance of their work. Students will expand their knowledge of animal physiology , their needs (housing, food and water), their behavior, the times when they suffer stress and how this affects the quality of the meat, especially when these situations occur during transport. The aim of the course is for professionals to become increasingly better at the correct handling of animals to achieve their well-being and thus improve the farm. personal-Vera-Vieja-at-feed-factory_blog_ALjomar-Hams Providing refresher and professional development courses is key at the Aljomar Group, as the continuous training of its employees is also a guarantee of quality. Hence the effort to promote training activities that provide a high level of professional development for all members, each according to their job position and responsibilities.
