During the last Alimentaria 2022 fair, we received from David Verano, certification director of Kiwa Spain, the Welfair Animal Welfare certificates for the Vera Vieja livestock farm, which confirm the animal welfare conditions that we offer to the Iberian mothers and during the montanera period.
Aljomar's Deputy Director, José Luis Sánchez, and Quality Director, Auxiliadora García, have enthusiastically developed this project, which reinforces the company's comprehensive commitment to doing things right, starting on the farm with animal care and feeding, continuing through the rest of the different production phases, and culminating in the production of top-quality Iberian products.
Aljomar's commitment guarantees animal welfare throughout its production cycle, a process that encompasses everything from raising Iberian pigs on its own farms in Vera Vieja (Extremadura), through the El Navazo slaughterhouse (Fuentes de Béjar) and the Aljomar factory in Guijuelo, thus offering maximum information and transparency to the consumer and guaranteeing the use of good practices throughout the food chain.
The treatment offered to the animals involves good accommodation, good food, good health and appropriate behavior throughout their entire development .
The Aljomar Group's Sustainability Report , which includes the task of ensuring animal welfare, also outlines the company's commitments regarding the environment, resulting in responsible activity that protects people's health.
Aljomar thus emphasizes the core of its business philosophy, which views food as a means to improve the quality of life of consumers, developing a production system that is fully respectful of nature and animals.
