We attended the Vitartis 2023 General Assembly of members

Vitartis Assembly 2023

This week , Vitartis held its annual general meeting at the facilities of one of its members: Patatas Meléndez. In addition to the official meeting, we had the opportunity to learn about the latest technological innovations implemented at the host company.

On the agenda of the Vitartis 2023 General Assembly of members, the organization's 2022 activity report was presented, along with the Annual Magazine and the new members incorporated last year: Bodegas José Pariente, La Flor Burgalesa, Grupo Copese, Molendum Ingredients and Huevos León.

In addition, José María Carulla, Director of Marsh Advisory, presented the World Economic Forum's Global Risks Report from Davos. We also heard the presentation 'From the Locker Room: A Look at Strategy from the World of Sports,' given by Álvaro Merino, an international speaker and creator of the 3.59 method applied to IBEX 35 companies.

The session ended with a touch of humor from comedian Álex Clavero, followed by lunch and a visit to the new Patatas Meléndez plant.

The meeting was chaired by Vitartis President Pedro Ruiz Aragoneses, who was accompanied by Vice President José Luis Sánchez, Assistant Director of Jamones Aljomar. During the event, we also offered attendees our 100% Iberian acorn-fed ham.

Vitartis is a regional organization that does a great job defending the interests of the agri-food industry of Castilla y León and promoting open and collaborative innovation among its members.

Jamones Aljomar has been part of this association since 2014, always with a strong commitment to its activities, helping to deepen its commitment to the economic and social environment and thus collaborate in the common goal of "increasing the competitiveness of the Food Industry in this Region, promoting innovation in all areas and representing the interests of the sector before institutions, public administrations and economic and social organizations."

Vitartis brings together the region's most representative agri-food companies—Alma Carrovejas, Grupo Hermi, Prosol, Campofrío, Gaza, Patatas Meléndez, and Jamones Aljomar, among others—as well as technology centers and universities, forming an ecosystem that facilitates the transfer of knowledge and technology. It has 138 members and accounts for more than 40% of the sector's revenue and employment in the region.
