The meat committee of Alimentaria 2022, of which José Luis Sánchez, Deputy Director of Jamones Aljomar, is a part, met this July to analyze the results of the last edition and to plan, starting in September-October, the organization of Alimentaria 2024.
The latest edition of Alimentaria, Spain's leading food, beverage, and foodservice trade fair and one of the most prominent in Europe, featured 3,000 companies across eight pavilions and 85,000 square meters of net exhibition space. Brands from 57 countries were represented at the fair, which attracted 100,000 visitors from 150 nationalities.
The activities held at the various forums featured 51 chefs, representing a total of 35 Michelin stars. Among those present was the internationally renowned Martín Berasategui, brand ambassador for Aljomar Iberian products. The professionals attending the event held 13,000 business meetings, generating an estimated economic impact of €180 million for the city of Barcelona.

The meat sector consolidated itself in 2022 as the most important at the fair, as the driving force of Alimentaria with 326 companies, 14,000 m2 of exhibition space and 25,000 visitors.
The organizing committee of Alimentaria believes that the 2022 fair closed with very satisfactory numbers given the post-pandemic circumstances and the international mobility restrictions that existed at the time of the event.
Therefore, as José Luis Sánchez conveyed after the meeting, "Alimentaria is pleased to continue being a strong trade fair at the national level and to be one of the three most important, along with Anuga and Sial, at the international level."
