In April 1992, Seville dressed up for various reasons. And yes, really!, preparing for the birth of Aljomar was one of them… But in addition, the Madrid-Seville AVE high-speed train line was inaugurated, as well as the world-famous "Expo 92".
In June 1992, Nintendo's Super Mario World arrived in Europe. A mustachioed plumber runs tirelessly to achieve his goals. Just like us! Back then, we were working hard on the construction of the new Aljomar Ham factory.
In July 1992, Spain hosted the Barcelona Olympic Games. The mascot Cobi arrived in the world with a silver spoon in his mouth, at least for Aljomar, where we were putting the finishing touches on the new facilities in Guijuelo, about to be inaugurated.
October 1992 marked the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in America. My goodness! Imagine how much the sailors must have enjoyed their voyage with their holds full of Iberian hams and sausages, from pigs raised in the dehesa (pastureland) and then cured in the unparalleled conditions provided by the Guijuelo climate. Yum!
On the BIG DAY, December 8th, Jamones Aljomar was born. With an ant as its symbol, because everything emerged little by little, the result of constant, deliberate, firm, and committed work. The work of a family fully dedicated to the world of Iberian pork for over 23 years. A family devoted to the quality and unique flavor of acorn-fed Iberian products.
Since 1992, our house has maintained the family tradition that will continue to be the emblem of the Aljomar brand.
