TRIBUTE TO DON ALFONSO, with CASCAJARES at his capon auction at the Ritz Hotel in Madrid

A much-anticipated moment is approaching for Jamones Aljomar. We're once again participating in a charity event that has become a Christmas tradition : the Cascajares Capon Auction , which celebrates its 16th edition on December 14, 2015. And we'll be there with our master ham carver, offering attendees the finest products from Aljomar: Tributo Don Alfonso Iberian Acorn-Fed Ham , Iberian Acorn-Fed Loin, and Pure Sheep's Milk Cheese. Last year, in addition to contributing our exquisite ham, we even ventured into the bidding ourselves and brought a beautiful capon back to Guijuelo. It was a true pleasure. The 16th Cascajares Auction will be held in the Royal Hall of the Ritz Hotel in Madrid , where the 10 Cascajares capons will be on display, ready to be auctioned to the highest bidder. As always, the money raised from attendees (€30 per ticket) plus the proceeds from the auction will be used entirely to fund scholarships for five young people from the PRODIS Foundation to support their employment. This year, the organizers hope to raise around €40,000. IMG_2674 The event will be a high-class party, with two luxurious and very appropriate presenters for the occasion: Samantha Vallejo-Nágera and Pepe Rodríguez, who together with Flavia de Hohenlohe from the Sotheby's Auction House, will be in charge of directing the bids. Over the course of 15 years, the Cascajares auction has raised more than 650,000 euros , which have been allocated to cancer scholarships, funding for Nuevo Futuro homes, and aid for the integration of people with disabilities into the workforce. We will not miss the event and, from Jamones Aljomar, we wish you much success in the fundraising and hope to enjoy it as much as we did in 2014.
