Our presence at Salón Gourmets this year 2021 was most satisfying, not only because we were able to personally welcome our collaborators and friends again, but also because we experienced such exciting moments as the delivery of one of our Aljomar Solidarity Checks to the ALADINA Foundation.
At Jamones Aljomar, we remain committed to our 'It tastes great to HELP others' campaign and the 'Solidarity Product' seal, which centralize funds allocated to collaboration with NGOs and non-profit entities. On this occasion, we presented a solidarity check for 6,000 euros to the Aladina Foundation to contribute to its fundraising efforts for the construction of the new Pediatric Onco-Hematology Area at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona.
This is a very ambitious and much-needed project for hundreds of children with cancer and their families. It is a major challenge that the Aladina Foundation is undertaking, in partnership with two Catalan organizations: the Small Foundation and the A. Bosch Foundation .
The Pediatric Onco-Hematology Area of the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital will be a large and bright space, equipped with the best technology and the greatest comfort for families, which will make children's hospital stays much more bearable and happy.
The project requires an investment of €6,200,000 and will occupy an area of 2,646 m². Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2022. The facilities will include 13 children's rooms, 7 rooms for teenagers, 7 rooms for bone marrow transplants, a children's play area, a teenagers' area, a parents' lounge, a hospital classroom, a gym, and a large terrace with a green area.
