José Luis Sánchez, Deputy Director of Jamones Aljomar, participated in the last General Assembly of Members 2020 of the Family Business of Castilla y León (EFCL), held on June 1st via online connection, in which the businesswoman from Palencia, Rocío Hervella, CEO of Prosol, was unanimously elected as president of the organization.
From Aljomar, we would like to express our sincere congratulations on this appointment , which will provide a new boost to the Family Business of Castilla y León, which includes the main family businesses in the region.

Furthermore, we would like to express our gratitude for the valuable work carried out by the outgoing president, César Pontvianne, CEO of Plásticos Durex, who during his two years in office made a remarkable effort on behalf of the organization and was of great help to all members. Undoubtedly, as he himself explained, the organization's participation and dialogue with government bodies has been "intensified and consolidated," and "we are a key player in the government's economic initiatives; they consult us, and we are an integral part of them." Pontvianne concluded by offering his full support to the new president and reminding her that, although "these are very difficult times, you have all 163 of our members. We are your guardians, and we are all in this together. EFCL needs us, and society in general truly needs us; and because we believe in this, we will not fail you."
The first thing Rocío Hervella did during her inauguration was to offer words of encouragement to the victims and those affected by Covid-19, which, from the outset, represents a significant change in society and is, as she said, a "survival challenge" .
But at Jamones Aljomar we fully agree with her and subscribe to her conviction that this difficult situation we are experiencing can also be "an opportunity to transform ourselves quickly to be winners in the new scenario we face," and especially by upholding "the values that we family business owners have and with the spirit of constant dialogue that we have always demonstrated."

The new president of EFCL considers it a priority to propose imaginative and effective solutions and asks the regional government for its support, with measures that strengthen solvency and boost confidence, such as "tax measures that intelligently serve as a lever to generate consumption incentives in sectors that also have a multiplier effect on job creation."
Finally, Rocío Hervella urged the members of the Family Business "to think about what I can do, what you can do as a person and as a family business owner, to help those closest to you, to rebuild together our Community, our Country, and our Common European Space."
All members of the Aljomar Family are committed to responding to this request and, as we are accustomed to doing, we are making ourselves available to our community to continue moving forward, supporting our employees, collaborators and customers.
