The Family Business Association of Castile and León, of which Aljomar is a member, has already delivered the donations received during the #CompromisoEFCL solidarity campaign to the Federation of Food Banks of Castile and León. Thanks to the effort and generosity of the Castilian and Leonese business families who contributed, €336,000 in cash and 80 tons of products were raised. These donations will help alleviate the basic needs of more than 600 families in Castile and León for a year, according to the food bank's estimates. These are families currently experiencing hardship as a result of the Covid-19 crisis.
This positive initiative has been supported by Jamones Aljomar along with many other companies in the region, as well as the support of banking entities and other companies belonging to the Food Industry Association of Castilla y León (Vitartis).
During the ceremony to hand over the funds raised to the food bank, the president of EFCL , César Pontvianne, “recalled the commitment and responsibility to society as hallmarks of the family business, values that are especially relevant in situations of social emergency such as the one we are experiencing.”
At Aljomar Family we are fully committed to these solidarity activities and, throughout these last months of state of alarm and confinement, in addition to collaborating with the EFCyL, actions have been carried out such as donation of protective material and Iberian pork product to various groups.
Through social media, special attention has also been paid to expressing sincere appreciation for the work of professionals in sectors such as health or security and other essential groups related to our own work in agri-food.
