We're sharing with you the photos we took at the 15th Cascajares Capon Auction , held on December 1, 2014, at the Ritz Hotel to benefit the Down Madrid Foundation . And we're thrilled to show you the capon we brought back with us to Guijuelo. We couldn't resist bidding on it, and here it is, at Jamones Aljomar. We're delighted to have participated in this great event, both by contributing to the auction and by offering a tasting of TRIBUTO DON ALFONSO acorn-fed Iberian ham. The event raised over €37,000, which will be used to "improve the lives of five people with intellectual disabilities from the Down Madrid Foundation. With this amount, we can provide them with scholarships to study for two years at the Pontifical University of Comillas, guaranteeing their access to the job market afterward, and also funding a tutor to support them throughout this process. For the Cascajares Foundation, it is a great source of satisfaction to be able to contribute to their education, which in the medium term will grant them economic independence and social recognition," as Alfonso Cascajares himself explained. The event was hosted by comedian Leo Harlem and presenter Juncal Rivero, and was attended by many celebrities, including Miriam Díaz Aroca, with whom we personally had a very pleasant time. Sotheby's auction house coordinated the bidding for the 10 live capons alongside paintings by members of the Down Syndrome Foundation. For Jamones Aljomar it was also a very special, rewarding and emotional day. Thank you all!
