The facilities of Jamones Aljomar in Guijuelo hosted on September 13 the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Association of the Food Industry of Castilla y León ( Vitartis ), an important meeting headed by its president Pedro Ruiz Aragoneses and its vice president, José Luis Sánchez, as host and assistant to the Director of Jamones Aljomar.
The event also took on special significance due to the participation of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, Gerardo Dueñas Merino, who was accompanied by the Director General of Industry and the Agri-food Chain, María José González Garrochón. They all had the opportunity to visit the facilities of Jamones Aljomar and the El Navazo Slaughterhouse and Cold Storage Facility.

For Jamones Aljomar, it was an honor and a pleasure to open the doors of our home to them. We were able to show them in detail how we work to offer our customers the best hams, shoulders, sausages, and Iberian pork products, which they also had the opportunity to taste.
Our involvement with Vitartis is total, due to the great work it does defending the interests of the agri-food industry of Castilla y León and for promoting open and collaborative innovation among its partners.
Jamones Aljomar has been part of this association since 2014 to deepen its commitment to the economic and social environment and, thus, collaborate in the common goal of "increasing the competitiveness of the Food Industry of this Region, promoting innovation in all areas and representing the interests of the sector before institutions, public administrations and economic and social organizations."

Vitartis brings together the region's most representative agri-food companies—Alma Carrovejas, Grupo Hermi, Prosol, Campofrío, Gaza, Patatas Meléndez, and Jamones Aljomar, among others—as well as technology centers and universities, forming an ecosystem that facilitates the transfer of knowledge and technology. It has 138 members and accounts for more than 40% of the sector's revenue and employment in the region.
