During the meeting, and after two years of adhering to the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Vitartis renewed this commitment, which has already been reflected in numerous initiatives addressing ten Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) linked to the Association's activity and the agri-food sector.

Despite the difficulties that companies, and especially those in his sector, have encountered in recent times, Pedro Ruiz expressed great satisfaction with the effort made, both by the organization and by the companies that comprise it, taking into account the situation created by the post-pandemic landscape, the logistical crisis, the high prices of energy and raw materials, and armed conflicts…

The president of Vitartis asserted that “no partner in Vitartis is outside the scope of sustainability and responsibility in many aspects of these two areas,” which is why they are convinced that the commitment is firm and reliable.

Over the past two years, Vitartis has organized nearly one hundred activities, bringing together 2,464 participants. Furthermore, it has increased its membership to 145, led 12 R&D projects, and participated in five others at the national level, "with the aim of contributing to improving the competitiveness of its members through innovative solutions in sustainability, digitalization, and new technologies, as well as talent attraction training," they explained after the board meeting.

In this regard, they added, “Vitartis has developed projects to promote the circular economy and the efficient use of resources, collaborative innovation, stable and quality employment, support for young talent, the defense of democratic values, human rights, social inclusion and equality.”

The creation and progressive activity of the Technical Sustainability Office was also highlighted by the association's directors.

Finally, in the area of corporate social responsibility, Vitartis has enhanced employee training, worked to improve health and safety at work, and focused on equal opportunities and good governance.
