As is tradition, the University of Salamanca welcomes students for the 2016/2017 academic year with a Welcome Fair held on Thursday, September 22nd in Salamanca, and on Thursday, September 28th at the Ávila campus . At this event, new students can learn about all the services the University offers through various stands in the sports hall of the Miguel de Unamuno Campus .
As part of the Fair's program, which you can find at this link , a charity lunch is being organized . Jamones Aljomar will be present, donating the Iberian cured meats (chorizo and salchichón) needed to make 1,200 sandwiches , which students can purchase for a nominal fee. All proceeds will go to the University of Salamanca's Cooperation Fund, which supports various NGOs and charitable projects. In addition, any unsold sandwiches will be donated that same day to Cáritas and the Red Cross in Salamanca to provide food for the city's most vulnerable families.
At Jamones Aljomar, we encourage university students in the new academic year to show their solidarity and participate in the fair; at the same time, we thank the University, through its Promotion, Information, and Guidance Service – you can count on us. It's a pleasure to collaborate in this way!
Cheers! And I hope you enjoy the sandwiches!!
