Today, more than ever in recent years, the concept of digitalization dominates much of the conversation when we talk about the future of agri-food companies. At the Aljomar Group, we are no strangers to this transformation. In just a few months, we have gone from discussing digital transformation as a necessary asset in the natural evolution of companies in the sector, to seeing it as an urgent necessity and even as an emergency lifeline in the face of the high level of uncertainty in which we find ourselves.
Agri-food companies have begun to see the immediate and future benefits of digitizing both internal and external processes . And in many cases, they have set to work trying to move forward as quickly as possible so as not to miss out on the new economy that awaits us after Covid-19.
The attitudes of consumers, producers, employees, and all stakeholders in the environment have changed, forcing companies to adapt in order to remain competitive.
Among the benefits of digital transformation, two stand out as fundamental within the company: streamlining processes (and therefore reducing time and costs), and adapting to new consumption patterns. This is why the implementation of internal management software (at all levels: invoicing, human resources, process technology, etc.) and the expansion of digital channels to connect with our audiences outside the company have become vitally important. These include:
- - The new logistics, which streamlines processes and simplifies the relationship with suppliers, distributors and points of sale.
- - Customer service via digital channels (in addition to traditional telephone and email, there is now the website itself, personalized chats, etc.).
And last but not least, all automated marketing , which allows us to use customer data at all points of contact with our brands (both in physical and online environments) to offer the best possible shopping experience.

At Aljomar, we have been immersed in the digital transformation of our company for years. We began over a decade ago, adapting our production processes to the changing times with advanced logistics systems that we have continuously improved. Next, we strengthened the work of our quality department through technological innovation to maximize the health benefits of our products, from pig feed to the intelligent preservation of the finished product. And more recently , we have been strengthening our relationships with all our stakeholders (both internal and external) through digital communication channels (website, blog, social media) and sales channels (management of sales databases, e-commerce, etc.).
The future we could barely glimpse yesterday has transformed rapidly into the present in which agri-food companies find themselves. This present offers us tools we hadn't even considered using just a few months ago, tools that have improved upon what we were already doing well: satisfying our customers by giving our all. Now we can do it well, faster, at a lower cost, more efficiently, and with complete consumer satisfaction.
In other words, we can do better! And technology is a great ally, not a barrier, so let's take advantage of it!
We will soon confirm the major digital challenge we are developing!
