Aljomar climbs the ranks on the economic map of Castile and León

Jamones Aljomar continues to climb the ranks in the economic landscape of Castile and León. This is reflected in the ranking of the 5,000 largest companies, recently published by the magazine Castilla y León Económica. The Guijuelo factory ranks 217th in the Region in terms of turnover, with 26 million euros in sales recorded in 2015. In provincial terms, it is already among the top 25 companies in Salamanca . These figures do not include the sales of another of the group's companies, the El Navazo slaughterhouse and cold storage facility , located in Fuentes de Béjar, which ranks 38th in Salamanca. Adding both companies together, as well as the sales generated by its livestock farm, Agropecuaria Vera Vieja , with €7.5 million, yields a total group turnover of €52 million in 2015; consolidating its business leadership in the Iberian sector in Salamanca and Castilla y León. Thus, its unstoppable growth continues, capturing national and international market share, with a presence in more than 25 countries. Strong global growth in 2016: While 2015's figures were good, 2016's results represent a record in sales for the company. The past fiscal year closed with overall growth of over 15%. Specifically, the group ends 2016 with a turnover of 62 million euros among its three divisions: Aljomar Ham Factory and Drying Facilities (€29M), El Navazo slaughterhouse (€24.5M) and Vera Vieja Agricultural Company (€9M). Figures that would already place him among the top 100 in Castilla y León and in the top 10 in Salamanca. Aljomar graphic Qualitative and quantitative growth: Aljomar is aware that more important than the figures is the qualitative growth of its product, which achieves, year after year, a great response from its customers: both from the distribution channel, hospitality and catering; as well as from retail or cash & carry. The secret to the company's success lies in Aljomar's Controlled Production and Processing Cycle , the pride of the Group and the cornerstone of its commercial consolidation. Everything is controlled internally, using its own resources: from the breeding and feeding of the Iberian pigs ( Vera Vieja ), to slaughter ( El Navazo Slaughterhouse ) and processing ( Factory in Guijuelo ), resulting in the consistency of the final product. The cycle employs strict control systems to ensure compliance with health requirements and traceability standards. Aljomar and its group directly employ more than 300 people. A family business: Despite its national and international reach, Aljomar does not lose its essence as a family business and continues to be led by the company's founder, Mr. Alfonso Sánchez, and his children. 'A family's work' is not just the slogan that accompanies the brand, but also the true know-how of the group.
