We attended the Vitartis assembly in Valladolid.

Environmental legislation will be the central focus of the Vitartis Assembly today, June 10, 2015, which is attended by Almudena Pfitz, head of the Quality Department, as a representative of Jamones Aljomar. This Food Industry Association of Castilla y León , to which Jamones Aljomar has belonged since 2014, is holding its meeting in Valladolid with the presence of more than 40 members who attend on behalf of the member companies and organizations linked to the food and biotechnology sector of the Community, such as Grupo Hermi, Grupo Siro and technological partners such as the University of Salamanca or the Higher Council for Scientific Research.

One of the most important aspects of the event will be the debate surrounding the new legislation on Environmental Liability and the mandatory Financial Guarantee. According to Vitartis, this is a matter of utmost importance for companies in the agri-food sector due to its potential implications. The presentation will cover: "Agri-food industry operators and livestock farms required to establish a Financial Guarantee to cover their environmental risk. Liability Regime. A brief overview of the regulatory evolution from Law 27/2007, of October 23, on Environmental Liability, to the recent Royal Decree 183/2015, of March 13 of this year, and an analysis of the current situation: the declaration of responsibility and the Environmental Damage Index (EDI)." Jamones Aljomar is a company committed to its economic and social environment ; hence its relationship with Vitartis, which it joined in November of last year with the common goal of "increasing the competitiveness of the Food Industry of this Region, promoting innovation in all areas and representing the interests of the sector before institutions, public administrations and economic and social organizations."
