And our cycle is undoubtedly a source of pride for everyone at Aljomar, not only because we are all responsible for some part of the process, but also because it allows us to guarantee the quality of the product we offer our customers. The Aljomar Controlled Production and Processing Cycle has been and will continue to be the cornerstone of the company's commercial success.
We personally monitor and control, using our own resources, the development of our raw material: Iberian pigs. Therefore, everything begins at the Vera Vieja farm, located on the estates of Retamal de Llerena and Campillo de Llerena (Badajoz), where more than 3,100 purebred Iberian sows are raised and fed. The potential of Vera Vieja, with its own natural feed mill and the capacity to supply raw materials to the entire group, underpins all the quality guarantees regarding the consistency of the final product manufactured at the Guijuelo factory. This process is carried out with strict control systems at the various stages of production, including full compliance with health requirements and traceability standards.
The next steps in the cycle involve slaughter at the El Navazo slaughterhouse, also part of the group, and the processing of Iberian products at the Aljomar Ham Factory in Guijuelo. These facilities cover 18,000 m2 and feature state-of-the-art technology applied to production systems, from butchering to the curing and processing of meat products, labeling, and storage of the cuts from the 50,000 pigs slaughtered annually.
The results speak for themselves. A remarkable 2017 saw Jamones Aljomar maintain strong growth and consolidated revenue exceeding €32 million. All of this suggests that 2018 will also be a great year in terms of growth and brand recognition both nationally and internationally. This year's 25th Anniversary celebration will not only bring festivities but also significant business progress.
