The Monleón Mountain Bike Challenge, organized in collaboration with the Salamanca Provincial Council and the Monleón Town Council , covers exactly 63 kilometers of medium-to-high difficulty with a cumulative elevation gain of 1,400 meters. Participants will enjoy the trails and tracks of the Entresierras region, starting and finishing in the ancient medieval town. This year, 12 kilometers of the route are entirely new. Along the way, participants will pass by the old marble quarries of Casafranca , enjoy views of the Sierra de Béjar from the Granite Theme Park in Los Santos , and delve into the history of the region by crossing the Puente Rando , a 17th-century structure that has been a thoroughfare for people and horses for centuries.
Registration for this sporting event is now open through the Salmanteam Bike group's website (salmanteambikes.blogspot.com) . The price is €12 per person , which includes insurance, roadside assistance, refreshments, and a finisher's certificate for each participant who completes the route. As the organizers emphasize, this is a free-form ride. It is not a competition, but rather "a personal challenge for each participant and a way to spend a morning enjoying sport with friends."
