We are still on the official gluten-free food list

For the fifth year in a row, Aljomar products appear on the 'Official FACE List 2015. Foods suitable for celiacs'. On page 78 of this publication appear Aljomar chorizos, lomos, morcones, longanizas and salchichones, gluten-free products “endorsed by the results of the analyses carried out, by the exhaustive selection of raw materials and the control of suppliers”, as explained by the head of the Quality department of Aljomar , Almudena Pfitz . As for hams and shoulders, they are also gluten-free, although they do not appear on the FACE list, because they are products of Iberian pork that are inherently gluten-free, both their raw materials and the products used for curing, so their presence on the aforementioned list of gluten-free foods is unnecessary. official face list cover 2015 Celiac disease is a condition that involves permanent intolerance to gluten, a protein found in cereals such as wheat, oats, barley, rye, spelt, kamut, and triticale. People with this condition must follow a gluten-free diet; therefore, they cannot consume these grains or their derivatives. Meat products are naturally gluten-free, but gluten appears in their composition when additives, spices, etc., are added during the manufacturing process. In the case of the Aljomar products selected for the list, all of them have been subjected to laboratory tests, and the result is that none of the ingredients or additives used for their manufacture contain gluten. The Aljomar Ham Quality Department regularly analyzes all elements involved in the production of Iberian pork products. All components undergo constant quality control. Aljomar Quality is fully committed to this, and we can guarantee that neither our raw materials nor the additives we use contain gluten, making our products suitable for people with celiac disease.
