Carmen Sánchez and José Luis Sánchez, Assistants to the Director of Jamones Aljomar, have attended the second edition of the Shareholders' School, developed by the Family Business of Castilla y León ( EFCyL ) and EspañaDuero.
This training program, which was completed in five intensive days and concluded on June 20, was designed to “help young people from business families become responsible owners of these companies and integrate into the business project with the best guarantees of success,” as explained at the closing ceremony by the president of the Family Forum, Beatriz Prieto.
Also present at the event were Ángel del Pozo, Head of Retail Banking at EspañaDuero, and Eduardo Estévez, Director of EFCL. Estévez specifically highlighted the high level of training provided by the sessions at the “Shareholders' School.” This was the case with experts such as Alberto Cagigas, Director of the magazine Castilla y León Económica; Ana Santos, Communications Advisor for the José María Group; and Ana Santos from the Pago de Carraovejas winery, who spoke at the final session on the 20th, emphasizing “the importance of marketing and personal branding.” Verónica Pascual, CEO of ASTI Technologies Group, also participated, focusing on the need for technology and innovation in family businesses.
Throughout the five days, held in May and June, Garrigues partners José Luis Zurro and David Guerra spoke to students about the governing bodies and taxation of family businesses , and Jorge Bonnín, financial director of Europac, spoke about finance for non-financial professionals .
Manuel Bermejo, president of The Family Advisory Board and professor at IE Business School, led a session on family business management . Meanwhile, Álvaro López, Human Resources Director of Grupo Siro, and Juan Carlos Pastor, former head coach of the world champion Spanish national handball team, shared key insights on leadership and team management .
The 2018 Shareholders' School is A highly successful and prominent initiative at the Family Forum, "which also includes a series of meetings with prestigious figures in the economic and business world and visits to leading companies." It fosters and encourages the exchange of experiences among its participants and provides valuable training and information to young people who are gradually taking the reins in the associated business families.
