Jamones Aljomar has been awarded the SME of the Year Award for the company's successful growth in recent years, during which it has distinguished itself as one of the top 10 producers of Iberian ham in Spain. The award, designed to "recognize the work of small and medium-sized enterprises as generators of wealth and creators of employment in the performance of their daily work," was presented at a ceremony held at the Salamanca Chamber of Commerce and was supported by Banco Santander.
This recognition confirms the upward trajectory of Jamones Aljomar in the business and gastronomic sector, with 80% of its sales made in national distribution and an international distribution in more than 30 countries in Europe, Asia, America and Africa.
A few months ago, Aljomar also received the Castilla y León Family Business Award for its commitment to R&D, internationalization, quality, continuity and social commitment.
The company has just published its latest Sustainability Report , which compiles data from 2018 and provides a comprehensive overview of its economic, environmental, and social activities, while also summarizing its more than 25 years of operation. It also outlines the new strategies it has implemented, centered on a corporate philosophy designed to improve consumers' quality of life . Thus, although Jamones Aljomar offers a wide range of Iberian pork products, it is currently developing a comprehensive organic Iberian pig production project and is committed to marketing natural, healthy, and safe products —a 100% natural production line including clean-label sausages, chorizo, and salchichón with no additives, allergens, or colorings.

The Aljomar Group's prominence stems from its strong commitment to promoting Iberian culture worldwide . Its Controlled Production Cycle guarantees the quality and consistency of the hams, sausages, and Iberian meats it distributes. This process begins with the breeding and feeding of its own Iberian pigs on the Vera Vieja farms and continues with the slaughter of the animals at the El Navazo slaughterhouse . From there, the meat is transported to the factory in Guijuelo for processing into hams, sausages, and Iberian meats. The cycle employs strict control systems , in accordance with current health and traceability regulations. More than 300 people are directly involved in the smooth operation of this production chain.
Aljomar Hams , which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, closed 2018 with a turnover of 33 million euros and significant national and international brand recognition. Furthermore, the overall balance sheet of the Aljomar Group, which includes its associated company El Navazo Slaughterhouse and Meat Processing Plant and its own livestock farm, Agropecuaria Vera Vieja, is around 82 million euros.
