Aljomar's sustainable project at the World Ham Congress

José Luis Sánchez, Deputy Director of Jamones Aljomar, participated today in the #EnRutaHaciaElXICMJ activities cycle of the World Ham Congress , where he spoke on the day “Sustainable production and consumption of ham in Spain”.

José Luis Sánchez presented his vision on 'The challenge of sustainability in the ham industry'.

The CSR Report of Jamones Aljomar was the central focus of José Luis Sánchez's presentation, as it outlines the main lines of action of Jamones Aljomar in the field of sustainability , commitment to the environment and the commitment to a natural and organic product.

In recent months, Jamones ALJOMAR has taken great strides, achieving various quality seals and certifications for its acorn-fed Iberian hams, Iberian sausages, and Iberian meats; and the company continues to work in this direction, always with the aim of producing better and safer food that contributes to the care of the natural environment and the quality of life of consumers.

Recently, Aljomar has obtained, among others, the official certificate that accredits its organic production system in accordance with current European regulations , set out in Regulation 834/2007 of June 28, 2007; the Welfair™ Animal Welfare certification issued by Aenor, which guarantees animal welfare throughout its production cycle; the Ecological Footprint Compensation Certificate thanks to its participation in the Refo-Resta CO2 Absorption Project of Inclam; and the IFS Food v.6.1 certification from Aenor (International Feature Standard), which guarantees the safety, legality and quality of all the company's production processes.

Aljomar's sustainability efforts and projects have been presented in detail at this event, where the vision that consumers have on sustainability, its evolution in pig production and the main challenges facing the ham industry will be analyzed.
