Aljomar will continue to be on the official gluten-free food list in 2019.

Aljomar products will continue to appear on the Official List of Foods Suitable for Celiacs in 2019. The Food Safety and Nutrition Department of FACE (Federation of Celiac Associations of Spain) informed us of this last July, thus confirming the excellent work carried out by the Aljomar Ham Quality Department in this regard.

Aljomar Iberian cured meats— chorizo, salchichón, morcón, longaniza, and lomo— have been on this list for nine years. They are regularly analyzed by independent laboratories, which confirm that they are completely gluten-free and therefore pose no harm to people with gluten intolerance or allergies. to this protein.

But also, as explained in the Quality department of Jamones Aljomar, it is also taken into account that the workers and operations on the products are carried out under current legislation, guaranteeing the product manufacturing lines, facilities and environment are gluten free.

As for Iberian ham and shoulder ham , these products are naturally gluten-free and do not require any additives; therefore, they do not need to be included in the list of foods suitable for celiacs.

Meat in its natural state is gluten-free, but due to the manufacturing process, some meat products contain seasonings and additives that can result in traces of gluten. This underscores the importance of adhering to FACE's requirements, which guarantee the complete absence of gluten in the foods on their list, providing peace of mind to people with celiac disease when selecting foods for their diet.

People with celiac disease are allergic to gluten, a protein found in foods containing wheat, oats, rye, spelt, kamut, triticale, and barley. Currently, 1% of the population has celiac disease and must adapt their diet accordingly.
