Jamones Aljomar's Iberian pork products now have the official certificate that accredits their organic production system in accordance with current European regulations, set out in Regulation 834/2007 of June 28, 2007. Aljomar began the organic Iberian pig production process in 2018 based on the good results obtained with its controlled production cycle, which guarantees the genetics, care and high-quality feed of its acorn-fed Iberian pigs.

To adapt to the new regulations, the company began by ensuring the correct amount of land per animal and the optimal use of natural resources at its Vera Vieja farm. Furthermore, Aljomar Group staff have received training and been provided with the necessary equipment to guarantee the breeding and selection of pigs according to the regulations that certify the animals as organic, meticulously overseeing their care and feeding. “ And all of this while ensuring sustainable, economically viable, and socially just agricultural development,” explains José Luis Sánchez, Assistant to the Director.
In addition to the agricultural operation, the rest of the production areas of its controlled production cycle (both the factory in Guijuelo and the El Navazo cold storage slaughterhouse) have also received certification, so the first organic production will be on the market soon with the range of its Iberian meats and sausages, followed later by hams and shoulders.
This new milestone, along with the Animal Welfare certification, reinforces this family business's commitment to nature, the environment, and food safety—values that are increasingly important to today's consumers.
