To speak of Jamones Aljomar is to speak of a family business that has transformed Iberian tradition into a way of life. Founded in Guijuelo more than three decades ago, it is now one of the leading names in the Iberian sector in Spain, with a presence in more than 35 countries and a turnover exceeding 150 million euros. What makes Aljomar so special?
A controlled cycle from beginning to end
One of Aljomar's defining characteristics is its controlled production cycle: from raising Iberian pigs in freedom on its Vera Vieja farm (Retamal de Llerena, Badajoz), to the processing and natural curing at its facilities in Guijuelo.
This model guarantees traceability, homogeneity and excellence in every piece , total control that very few companies in the sector can offer.

Commitment to quality and food safety
100% of Aljomar products are certified under the international standard IFS Food, one of the most demanding in the world in food safety.
In addition, the company has recognized certifications such as the Iberian Standard (Calicer), the Guijuelo Designation of Origin, the Tierra de Sabor guarantee mark, and gluten-free (FACE) and lactose-free (ADILAC) product seals, which endorse its commitment to transparency and consumer health.
Sustainability and respect for the environment
Respect for nature is part of Aljomar's DNA. In recent years, it has promoted far-reaching environmental projects , such as the planting of 4,000 new holm oaks and cork oaks in Vera Vieja to regenerate the dehesa (pastureland).
Furthermore, thanks to the installation of solar panels in Guijuelo and Vera Vieja, the company now generates more than 23% of the energy it consumes through renewable sources, avoiding the emission of more than 350 tons of CO₂ per year.

Natural, organic and healthy products
Aljomar was a pioneer in the development of 100% natural sausages , without additives, colorings or allergens, as well as in the production of organic Iberian hams and shoulders , certified according to European regulations.
This commitment reflects a clear vision: to offer healthier, more sustainable products that are true to their natural origin.
Furthermore, we cannot forget that Aljomar's 100% Iberian acorn-fed ham was awarded the prize for Best Iberian Ham in Spain in 2022 at the Food of Spain Awards, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Aljomar's 'black label' ham achieved the highest score in a rigorous blind tasting conducted by tasters from the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), as well as industry specialists convened by the Ministry. This sensory evaluation considered not only the shape and appearance of the ham, but also its aroma, texture, and flavor.
The human factor and the family soul
Behind Aljomar's success are more than 400 direct employees and a network of over 120 indirect collaborators, united by a common philosophy: humility, honesty, perseverance, and respect. These values, instilled by the founding family, led by Alfonso Sánchez and his wife Carmen Sánchez, continue to guide the company toward an increasingly responsible and humane future.

A brand with international reach
With a presence at the world's leading trade fairs—Alimentaria, SIAL Paris, Foodex Japan, and Summer Fancy Food in New York—Aljomar has brought the Iberian flavor to all five continents , thanks to its ambassador, chef Martín Berasategui , who shares the brand's passion for excellence and respect for the product.
Aljomar does not just produce Iberian hams and sausages: it creates gastronomic culture, preserves the dehesa (pastureland) and transmits values
That balance between tradition, innovation and sustainability is what makes it truly distinctive.
