Jamones Aljomar closed its 2018 financial year with a turnover of 33 million euros, an excellent economic performance achieved during its 25th Anniversary celebrations, which significantly boosted the brand's national and international recognition . This increased visibility was reflected, for example, in the Sánchez family receiving the Castilla y León Family Business Award for their commitment to R&D, internationalization, quality, continuity, and social responsibility.
Furthermore, the overall turnover of the Aljomar Group is approaching 82 million euros, incorporating the good results obtained in its associated company Matadero Frigorífico El Navazo and its own livestock farm Agropecuaria Vera Vieja .
Jamones Aljomar is one of the top 10 producers of Iberian ham in Spain , with 80% of its sales are made through domestic distribution. Furthermore, in 2018, the internationalization of Aljomar products experienced a significant boost. And sales of its Iberian pork products outside of Spain have increased to 20% of its total sales. Jamones Aljomar has demonstrated a remarkable ability to meet diverse international certification standards and adapt to the culinary preferences of a wide range of consumers. As a result, its acorn-fed Iberian hams, cured meats, and other Iberian pork products are now enjoyed in nearly 30 countries.
Success of the Controlled Cycle
Aljomar's Controlled Production and Processing Cycle results in a product to be truly proud of and guarantees commercial success. The process begins with the breeding and feeding of our own Iberian pigs on the Vera Vieja farms and continues with the slaughter of the animals at the El Navazo Slaughterhouse , from where they are transported to the factory in Guijuelo to produce the hams, sausages, and Iberian pork products. This cycle ensures the consistency and quality of the products, with strict control systems in accordance with current health and traceability regulations. More than 300 people are directly involved in the smooth operation of this production chain.
Jamones Aljomar has its own raw materials and Last year it achieved a production-processing of more than 54,000 pigs.

But the company's impressive figures weren't the only highlight of 2018. Following the celebration of its 25th anniversary, Jamones Aljomar also reaffirmed its importance in the country's meat industry and earned recognition from leading companies and representatives in the business sector in general, and the culinary world in particular. It's worth noting the strong relationship established with renowned chef Martín Berasategui, a brand ambassador and a member of the Aljomar family. Berasategui admires their acorn-fed Iberian hams and meats, which he has incorporated with his characteristic flair into his highly regarded culinary repertoire, both nationally and internationally.
New, healthy and ecological projects for 2019
Aljomar Hams continues with projects that reaffirm its commitment to quality and its dedication to natural, healthy, and safe products. In this vein, 2019 is a year dedicated to the production of organic Iberian pigs. With a controlled production cycle, the genetics, care, and high-quality feed of their acorn-fed Iberian pigs are guaranteed. From there, the challenge is to achieve the production and marketing of the finest organic pigs, all while ensuring sustainable, economically viable, and socially just agricultural development. Aljomar's current Iberian production already meets some of the requirements for organic livestock farming, as outlined in Regulation 834/2007 of June 28, 2007, on organic production and labelling of organic products. Now, Aljomar staff are expected to receive the necessary training and resources to confidently begin the breeding and selection of pigs, in accordance with the regulations that certify the animals as organic.
Aljomar's organic production plans are detailed in its Sustainability Report, which outlines the company's economic, environmental, and social commitments. This document also includes a 100% natural production line, reflecting its corporate philosophy of improving consumers' quality of life. Jamones Aljomar is thus launching the production of 100% natural cured meats, a natural product with a clean label. This project will bring to market chorizo and salchichón without additives, allergens, or colorings, allowing a wider range of consumers, including those with intolerances or allergies, to enjoy Aljomar Iberian pork products.
Finally, as every year, Aljomar will maintain its firm Corporate Social Responsibility policy, promoting its 'Solidarity Product' seal, with which it donates part of its profit to collaborations with local, regional and national entities, such as Red Madre, the Aladina Foundation (through the Cascajares Traditional Capon Auction), Pyfano (children with Cancer), Spanish Association Against Cancer, ADAA (Association for the Support of Families of Patients in the Balearic Islands), Brotherhood of Blood Donors of Salamanca, Social Cooperation Fund of the University of Salamanca, Association of Deaf Blind People of Castilla y León and Aerscyl (Association of Rare Diseases of Castilla y León).
