1969
La Salmantina
Alfonso Sanchez and his wife Carmen opened their first store of Iberico products in the Triana district of Seville, under the name ‘La Salmantina’. This emblematic business, the seed of the Aljomar company, is still open today.
1992

The shared dream of Alfonso and Carmen became a reality with the construction of their own manufacturing plant…
Here is where Aljomar was born.
1997
Vera Vieja
The Vera Vieja farm becomes part of the family business. Located in Retamal de Llerena (Badajoz), the farmland stretches over a vast and rich pasture which provides the highest quality acorns, grass and excellent grazing fields for its Iberico pigs.
2001
The Iberico industry
The company joins IBERAICE, the leading association of the Spanish meat industry, which brings together the Iberico industry.
2008
64.000 m2
The controlled production cycle comes full circle with the El Navazo slaughterhouse, of which Aljomar is the primary business partner. The most modern and state-of- the-art meat processing facility in Europe opens for business, with a surface area of 64,000 m2 and certified to export to the major markets in the world.
2010
Lactose-free hams and pork shoulders
Aljomar joins Adilac (the Spanish Association for Lactose- Intolerance).
2011
National consolidation
Aljomar consolidates its national market and boasts a presence in more than 25 countries.
2012
New image
New image, packaging and products to adapt to market demands. The Don Alfonso line is introduced as the premium line of Aljomar products, paying homage to the founder of the Aljomar brand.
2015
Expanding livestock holdings
Expansion of the livestock holdings with new farms and more than 3.200 purebred sows. Aljomar builds its own natural grain feed factory and positions itself among the top 10 most important producers of Iberico products in Spain.
2017
Socially Responsible Product
The company’s Corporate Social Responsibility plan is strengthened with the creation of ‘Solidarity Products’ to collaborate with local social issues.
2018
25th Anniversary
Aljomar celebrates its 25 anniversary with Chef Martin Berasategui (8 Michelin stars) taking on the role of brand ambassador.
